    Redefining Ramon’s new normal with inFOCUS – in the middle of a global pandemic

     

    Discover how we helped Ramon migrate their business from a 15-year-old version of ibs to ibs 2.0 – part of our inFOCUS platform – in the most challenging of conditions.

    Our challenge

    Moving your business infrastructure to the cloud can feel like a daunting prospect at the best of times. But when Ramon decided to upgrade as part of their phased migration to the cloud from a 15-year-old version of ibs to ibs 2.0 – part of our cloud-based modular inFOCUS platform – we had a real challenge on our hands.

    Not only was their business going through a time of rapid evolution – with many new staff and a completely new office – the planned switch also coincided with the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic. Meaning we would have to take an entirely socially distant approach to managing the upgrade. While still delivering our trademark level of support – every step along the way.

    Our solution

    In a time of unprecedented uncertainty, we made keeping business-as-usual our number one priority.

    To ensure the migration was as seamless as possible, we initially copied the data overnight, every night, to parallel run the functionality in real-time with real-data. This allowed us to get the new software up-to-speed without impacting on day-to-day operations.

    Once the team at Ramon were ready to migrate the whole office infrastructure over to inFOCUS – we did just that. Offering remote support via Microsoft Teams meetings, screen sharing sessions and socially distanced on-site training. We were also on-hand and in the office to make sure day one went off smoothly.

    Our results

    Although the migration came at a particularly challenging moment – it really couldn’t have come at a better time. Thanks to the new functionality made possible by inFOCUS, the Ramon team were much less frustrated by the shift to home working than they could have been.

    For example, documents could be produced and sent out directly and digitally from the system – with no need for the printers sat back at the office. A change that made response times faster, made processing smoother for customers and suppliers, and also made the production of documents, storage and reporting much more user-friendly.
